This is the dining area at Beilari, the hostel I am staying at here in St. Jean-Pied-de-Port. So far this pilgrim thing is looking pretty sweet. However, I have only met one other person who is intending to cross the Pyrenees in one day tomorrow. Here is a picture of the Pyrenees.
Understandably went here to pray.
I start out tomorrow and it is a holiday, Joxelu at the hostel reminds me. It is, in fact, May 14, the Day of Ascension. What a wonderful day to start a spiritual pilgrimage. I will be doing some ascending of my own.
